Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS) delegation led by its President Asif Khan, comprising Secretary Asghar Azeem, Sr Vice President Zubair Nazeer Khan, Vice President Mehmood Riaz, Joint Secretary Shahid Satti, EC members Shahid Ansari, Mujahid Solangi, Riazuddin, Umar Shaheen, and Sr Vice President of PSWF Nasar Iqbal has called on Secretary Sports at his office.
Secretary Sports said that the summary has been sent to Chief Minister Sindh for building the cricket academy in Niaz Stadium. He said that the journalists’ role is important for promoting sports and SJAS moving towards the right path for sports promotion in the province.
Secretary Sports also congratulated SJAS for organizing Sports Festival for journalists community. He further said that as per the vision of the Sindh Government, all important games to be included in New Sports Policy. With the coordination of SJAS, we will arrange a Malakhra tournament in near future.
Secretary Sports Sindh said that the players from Dadu, Khairpur, Larkana, Karachi, Lahore, and Quetta have equally opportunities to represent the country. “I am sad when I saw players like Dahani, Zahid Mehmood and Nauman Ali
sit on the bench rather in the playing XI,” he concluded.
Inter-District Commissioner Games and Commissioner Karachi Games to be included in Calendar Year this was stated by Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon while he met the delegation of SJAS led by its President Muhammad Asif Khan.
SJAS delegation including President Asif Khan, Secretary Muhammad Asghar Azeem, Sr Vice President Zubair Nazeer Khan, Vice President Mehmood Riaz Joint Secretary Shahid Satti, Finance Secretary Irshad Ali, Secretary Information Maqsood Ahmed, EC members Shahid Ansari, Jaffar Hussain, and Tariq Aslam has called on Commissioner Karachi at his office on Monday.
During the meeting, Secretary SJAS briefed him on the recently concluded Sports Festival which was successfully organized by SJAS. Commissioner Karachi congratulated SJAS for organizing such a great mega event for the journalists’ community. Asghar Azeem lauded the role of Commissioner Karachi for promoting sports culture.
Commissioner Karachi announced to organize Commissioner Karachi Sports Year Calendar, All Sindh Inter-District Commissioner Games, and Commissioner Karachi Games for promoting sports in the city. ‘A cricket match between Commissioner XI and SJAS to be held soon, he concluded.
KARACHI: Zeeshan Nazir from 24 News defeated the favorite, Mohsin Raza, in the final of snooker event on the last day of SSB-SJAS Sports Festival at the Legend Snooker Club. 24 journalists from different media houses participated in the event where Zeeshan played aggressively and beat Faizan Lakhani of Geo News in the semifinal and then outclass tournament favorite Mohsin Raza in the best of 3 final.
Simultaneously 50 journalists participated in the Arm-Wrestling event at the KPT Sports Complex on the last day of the festival. Later, President PBSA Irfan Motan distributed prizes along with Hanif Lakhani and Sr Vice president of SJAS Zubair Nazeer Khan.
KARACHI: Shahid Ansari from Daily Amn Newspaper won the title of Badminton event in the SSB-SJAS Sports Festival after Suleman Khan of Daily Kasauti Peshawar got injured and walkout during 2nd game of the final at KPT Sports Complex. Where 28 journalists from different media houses have participated.
CEO of Essa Lab and Patron SJAS, Dr. Farhan Essa Abdullah graced the occasion as a Chief Guest. He lauded the role of SJAS in promoting sports in Sindh. Dr. Farhan Essa said that SJAS created history for organizing 7 different games for the journalist’s community.
He further said that organizing a grand tournament where more than 200 journalists have participated, is a unique step of SJAS and we can proudly say that SJAS is a united association and moving in the right direction.
KARACHI: Kashif Farooqui from Weekly Jauhar Times clinched the title of Badminton in the SSB-SJAS Sports Festival at the KPT Sports Complex.
Ten (10) sports journalists from different media houses compete in the Table Tennis event where Kashif Farooqui defeated Geo’s Farrukh Zahir in the best of seven final by 4-2. Shahid Ansari of Daily Amn News, Jaffar Hussain, Manzar Naqvi and Farrukh Zahir from Geo News, Neo News sports reporter Zahid Ghaffar, Weekly Jauhar Time’s Kashif Farooqui, Anis ur Rehman from Radio Pakistan, Shahzada Moin from Such TV, Patron SJAS Khawaja Ahmed Mustaqeem and Qalbe Muhammad from FM 101 participated in the single category event.
