Karachi: A Workshop was organized at Kashmir Sports Complex Karachi under Sindh Archery Association and Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS). A large number of SJAS members participated in the workshop in theory and practical sessions. On occasion, President of Sindh Archery Association, Sana Ali, Secretary General Ijaz Ali, Coach Akmal, Country Head of Salman Foods Sarfraz Khan, Instructor Akmal, Zahid Hameed, Ambreen Babar, Sundas Mubeen, Maryam Fatima, Secretary of Sindh Olympic Association Ahmed Ali Rajput, President of Sindh Boxing Association Asghar Baloch, President of Karachi Basketball Association Haji Ghulam Muhammad, Senior Vice President of Sindh Tennis Association Khalid Rahmani, President of Dodgeball Association Ghulam Yaseen, Secretary of Sindh Karate Association Abdul Hameed Baloch, Erum Bukhari, and others were present on the occasion. At the end of the workshop, certificates and shields were distributed among the participants.
Patron-in-Chief of Sindh Archery Association Colonel Zia Islam (Retired) said that Archery is an ancient sport that is played in more than 160 countries but over the last eight years it has become very popular in Pakistan. The chairman of the Archery Association Imtiaz Sheikh said that it is a good idea for journalists to know the sport in practice and to play it themselves. In this way, it will be easier for them to understand the sport. It is necessary to have a thorough knowledge of the relevant sport and its rules. Shahid Usman Saati, Secretary, of SJAS, thanked the Sindh Archery Association and a large number of SJAS members for their participation and interest in the sport. He said that this series of learning will continue. On this occasion, Archery competitions were also organized among the members of SJAS.
Shahid Ansari of Daily Amn won the first prize, Huzaifa Khan was second and Zahid Ghaffar of Neo TV was third.
