Karachi: Swearing-in ceremony of nine elected officials of the Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS) was held at Sindh scouts Headquarters. Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister and administrator Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab administered the oath of the newly elected SJAS cabinet.
On this occasion, Murtaza Wahab expressed good wishes for the newly elected officials, saying that in view of the past performance of the SJAS, the new officials have a great responsibility for the development of sports and sports journalism. He congratulated the new cabinet of SJAS and said that there is hope for further improvement in good sports reporting, and his services and Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) are present, for SJAS, at times.
Furthermore, the Karachi Press Club election committee chairman and the former KPC President, former President Imtiaz Khan Faran, nominated observer senior journalist of Pakistan sports Writers federation for SJAS elections, Iqbal Jamil, members of SJAS election committee, Abul Hasan, Nasir Hussain Khattak, Amjad Qaimkhani presented memorial shields on behalf of SJAS. Professor Ejaz Farooqi, senior journalist Khalid Mahmood, Secretary KUJ Fahim Siddiqui, KHA chairman Gulfraz Ahmed Khan, Senior Vice President of SOA, SJAS senior vice President Mahmood Riaz, senior journalist Zubair Nazeer Khan, former SJAS secretary Asghar Azeem, also expressed their views.
The speakers said that it is very happy that the new cabinet of SJAS has been elected in a democratic way. There are high expectations from SJAS in the future, the last fifteen years of SJAS performance should be appreciated. Sports journalists create a new hope from their work, sports reporting is a very difficult job.
SJAS President Asif Khan and secretary Shahid Usman Sati thanked Barrister Murtaza Wahab and all the participants at the ceremony during the speech. They expressed determination to further improve the performance by highlighting the performance of SJAS.
At the event, officials of various sports associations including SJAS members, Sindh Scouts Association secretary Akhtar Mir, Furqan Ahmed, Ghulam Muhammad, Kashif Farooqi, Qudsia Raja, Jamil Ahmed, Javed Khan, Ashfaq Ahmed were present on the occasion.
