Karachi: During the second Test match between Pakistan and Australia, at the National Stadium, under the auspices of Sports Journalists Association Sindh (SJAS), a ceremony was held to honour the visiting Australian journalists. The function was attended by SJAS officials, members and senior journalists. On the occasion, the President of SJAS, Muhammad Asif Khan and Secretary Shahid Saati lauded the Australian journalists for touring Karachi.
They said that SJAS had earlier honoured the Sri Lankan journalist, who came to Pakistan after a long layoff. In fact, this trip, from the Australians, will further transmit positive signals about Pakistan. Senior Journalist Qamar Ahmed said that journalists are the ambassadors of peace and the reporting, by the Australians, will truly reflect Pakistan.
Australian journalists, while appreciating SJAS’ hospitality, said that Australia’s tour to Pakistan is a proof of the country’s conducive environment and now other countries should also visit Pakistan.

Karachi: On the occasion of International Women’s Day, a cricket match was organized under the auspices of Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS) to raise awareness on “Empowering Women through Sports”.
Media Friends XI batted first and scored 80 runs without loss. In pursuit of the target, SJAS Friends XI lost course and reached 74 runs.
At the end of the match, Dr. Farah Issa Abdullah, Founder of Dr. Issa Lab and Diagnostic Center and Dr. Farah Academy, along with President of SJAS Asif Khan and Secretary Shahid Saati distributed prizes and certificates among the players. The captain of the winning team Qudsia Raja received the winner while Kulsoom Jahan received the runner-up trophy.
On this occasion, Dr. Farah termed the conduct of the match a good attempt to build self-confidence amongst women. She added that SJAS did a great job by bringing women journalists, engrossed in professional responsibilities, on the playing field. Dr Farah said We today activity took her back to her childhood, due to the busy schedule they do not get a chance to play. President of SJAS Asif Khan and Secretary Shahid Saati, while congratulating the winning team, said that the performance of SJAS Friends XI, without proper coaching had been excellent. They added when two teams come face to face, only one of them wins.

KARACHI: ARY News successfully defended the title of SSB-SJAS Cricket Cup after defeating their arch-rivals Geo News in the final at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium.
ARY piled up a total of 193 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Skipper Babar Khan scored 40 runs while Ateeq Ahmed and Shahab Akhter made 36 runs each. In reply, Geo News managed to score 164 runs in 20 overs. Hammad scored 57 runs for Geo News.
Owner of Quetta Gladiators, Nadeem Omar graced the occasion as a Chief Guest and distributed prizes amongst the winners. Nadeem Omar lauded the effort of SJAS in the field of sports.
Shahroz Alvi of SJAS Blues was declared Best allrounder of the tournament while skipper of ARY News Babar Khar was named Best Batsman and SJAS Blues wicketkeeper Qalbe Muhammad declared Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament.
SJAS Sr Vice President Zubair Nazeer Khan, Manager Quetta Gladiators Azam Khan, Sr Vice President of Sindh Olympic Association Syed Mehfooz ul Haq, Additional Director Sports of KDA Ayaz Munshi, Secretary SJAS Asghar Azeem, and other members of SJAS were also present at the occasion.

KARACHI: Media Women Friends XI outclassed Media XI in SSB-SJAS Sports Festival Cricket event
at the Asghar Ali Shah Stadium. An exhibition match was organized by SJAS during SSB-SJAS Sports Festival.
Media XI scored only 33 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. In reply, Media Friends XI reached the target easily in 9th over. Afsana made an unbeaten 24 runs and got her Player of the match.
Shahida Perveen, member of the Pakistan Welfare Association and member Commissioner Karachi Sports Committee graced the occasion as a Chief Guest and distributed prizes among the winner. She said on the occasion that women faced difficulties in our society. She further said that SJAS organizing an event for women journalists is a great step.
She also thanked SJAS for initiating women’s events in Sports Festival.
“I hope SJAS will organize more events for women journalists in future as well”, Shahida Parveen concluded.

In the program, at the Greenwich university auditorium with strict Covid-19 SOPs, Sohail responded to a volley of questions, about Cricket records, from the students, who were amazed at the spontaneous replies and the knowledge of Sohail.

Shoaib Ahmed, Editor Scoreline magazine, and Faizan Lakhani, senior journalist, acted as a jury to adjudge responses from Sohail Khan. Umar Khan, the media head of Greenwich University, was the presenter of the programme. Addressing the audience, senior journalist Iqbal Jamil applauded SJAS for organising such a programme. He added that Sohail Khan had proven his worth by replying to the tough questions impulsively with ease.
SJAS president, Muhammad Asif Khan, Senior Vice President, Zubair Nazeer Khan, Vice President Mehmood Riaz, Faizan Lakhani and Shazaib Bhutto, the trusted and longstanding aide of Sohail Khan, also shared their experience with the hero of the ceremony. They were of the view that Sohail Khan is a living example of passion and zeal which can lead one through every disability. They added that Shoail had made many able as impaired before him.
SJAS Secretary, Muhammad Asghar Azeem termed Sohail Khan a real hero and wished that he would be able to fulfil his dream of covering a cricket game at the home of cricket, Lord’s. Sohail Khan, sharing his journey with the attendees, said a person needs to be firm and Allah will also help; one has to believe in himself. He appreciated SJAS for recognising his talent, from day one, rather than looking down upon him.
Sohail recalled his association with FM101 as the beginning of his professional life. He revealed that he kept his impairment as a secret, to the radio audience, until he gained their trust through knowledge. In the end, as a token of appreciation, SJAS awarded a cheque of Rs 2lac to Sohail Khan.

پاکستان اسپورٹس رائٹرز فیڈریشن نے پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ کے سی ای او وسیم گلزار خان کی جانب سے ایک یو ٹیوب چینل پر پاکستانی سپورٹس جرنلسٹس کے خلاف ہتک آمیز الفاظ استعمال کرنے کی شدید مذمت کرتے ہوئے اسے سپورٹس جرنلسٹس کے خلاف ایک منظم سازش قرار دیا ہے۔ فیڈریشن کے صدر امجد عزیز ملک نے یہاں جاری ایک بیان میں کہا کہ وسیم خان کی منطق سمجھ سے بالاتر اور ان کے خیالات ایک بیمار اور شدید دباؤ کا شکار کسی فرد کی طرح ہیں۔ ان کی جانب سے ایک ذمہ دارانہ عہدے پر فائز ہوتے ہوئے اس قسم کے بیانات کسی بھی طور مناسب نہیں ہیں۔ امجد عزیز ملک نے کہا کہ پاکستان کرکٹ ٹیم کی کار کردگی پر نظر رکھنے کی بجائے ذاتی مفادات کی جنگ لڑنے والے وسیم خان کیا یہ بتانا پسند کریں گے کہ ملک میں کرکٹ کھیل کو تباہی سے کیوں دوچار کر دیا گیا؟ آزادی اظہار رائے پر پابندیاں لگاتے ہوئے ملک بھر کے کرکٹ آرگنائزر کی زبانیں کیوں چپ کروا دی گئیں؟ کلب کرکٹ کو کس طرح سے یرغمال بنا دیا گیا ہے؟ پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ کو کیوں گھر کی لونڈی بنا دیا گیا ہے؟پاکستان سپورٹس رائٹرز فیڈریشن کے صدر نے کہا کہ پی سی بی کے سی ای او نے چئیرمین پی سی بی کو اندھیرے میں رکھ کرپاکستان میں کرکٹ کو جس قدر نقصان پہنچایا ہے اس پر قومی احتساب بیورو کے چئیرمین جسٹس ریٹائرڈ جاوید اقبال کو از خود نوٹس لینا چاہیئے تاکہ قوم کو پتہ چل سکے کہ کرکٹ بورڈ میں کیا گل کھلائے جا رہے ہیں۔امجد عزیز ملک نے پی سی بی کے سرپرست اعلی وزیر اعظم عمران خان سے بھی مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ وسیم گلزار خان کو ان کے عہدے سے ہٹایا جائے اوربرطانوی شہریت والے کی بجائے کسی پاکستانی کو سی ای او تعینات کیا جائے۔پاکستان سپورٹس رائٹرز فیڈریشن نے چئیرمین سینٹ اور سپیکر قومی اسمبلی سے بھی مطالبہ کیا ہے کہ پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ کے آمدن و اخراجات کی تفصیلات طلب کی جائیں تو دونوں ایوان کے نمائندگان پاکستان میں کرکٹ چلانے والے اس ادارے کی کارکردگی سے آگاہ ہو سکیں۔پاکستان سپورٹس رائٹرز فیڈریشن نے وسیم خان سے سپورٹس جرنلسٹس سے معافی مانگے کا مطالبہ بھی کیا ہے. فیڈریشن نے سپورٹس جرنلسٹس سے بھی اپیل کی ہے کہ وہ پی سی بی اور وسیم خان کا معافی مانگنے تک بائی کاٹ کریں
اسپورٹس جرنلسٹس ایسوسی ایشن سندھ (سجاس) نے پاکستان کرکٹ بورڈ کے چیف ایگزیکٹیو وسیم خان سے عام معافی کا مطالبہ کیا ہے۔ سجاس نے اپنے مذمتی بیان میں سی ای او وسیم گلزار خان کی جانب سے ایک یوٹیوب چینل کو دیئے جانے والے انٹرویوں میں پاکستان کے اسپورٹس جرنلسٹس کے لئے غیر اخلاقی اور ناشائستہ زبان کے استعمال کی پر زور مذمت کی ہے، سجاس کے صدر آصف خان اور سیکریٹری اصغر عظیم سمیت تمام عہدیداران اور مجلس عاملہ نے اپنے مشترکہ بیان میں مزید کہا ہے کہ وسیم خان نے اپنے الفاظ واپس نہیں لئے اور صحافیوں سے کھلے عام معافی نہ مانگی تو ان کے خلاف احتجاج بھی کیا جاسکتا ہے، اچھے اور برے صحافی کی لکیر کھینچ کر درحقیقت وسیم خان من پسند سوالات نہ کرنے والے صحافیوں کو دباو میں لانے اور بلیک میل کرنے کی ناکام کوشش کررہے ہیں، پی سی بی میں بڑی بڑی شخصیات، عہدیدار آئے اور چلے گئے لیکن صحافی اپنی جگہ موجود ہیں اور رہیں گے، تاج برطانیہ کا وفادار برطانوی طرز حکومت “لڑاؤ اور حکومت کرو” کی پالیسی پر گامزن ہے، سب جانتے ہیں کہ پاکستان کی ڈومیسٹک کرکٹ کو تباہی پر پہنچانے والے وسیم خان کی تقرری اہلیت کے بجائے سفارش کی بنیاد پر کی گئی ہے، وسیم خان اپنے عہدے کی معیاد کو طول دینے کے چکر میں دماغی دیوالیہ پن کا شکار ہوگئے ہیں ان کی صحافیوں کو آپس میں لڑانے کی خواہش کبھی پوری نہیں ہوگی،باصلاحیت اور متحد پاکستانی اسپورٹس جرنلسٹس پیشہ وارانہ طور پر دنیا بھر میں ایک باعزت اور پروقار مقام رکھتے ہیں،

After the thrilling encounter Administrator XI beat SJAS XI, by just two runs, to clinch the Youm-e-Pakistan day KMC sports gala T20 trophy. In pursuit of a daunting 217 runs, SJAS fell short at 215 runs at the last delivery of the match. Farrukh Rizvi scored a brilliant century and declared the Man of the Match award. Youm-e-Pakistan KMC Sports Gala was played at TMC ground under floodlights between the team of administrative officials of KMC and Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS). Batting first, after winning the toss, the Administrative XI hammered 217-2 in 20 overs. Farrukh Rizvi was the star of the show with 112 runs on 41 balls. Ehsan Khan & Umar Shaheen grabbed a wicket each.
Chasing the target, the SJAS’ start wasn’t great either, however, it got steady in middle due to steady partnerships between Shahid Ansari (52), Zahid Ghaffar (20), Anis-ur-Rehman (45 off 31), and Shehzad Shaizi (23 off 17), while Ehsan Khan remained unbeaten on 29 (16). Shahid Ansari hit six and 10 fours in his 28-ball knock. Winner team’s Kamran and Asim secured two, two while Raza Abbas claimed one wicket. Laeeq Ahmed distributed prizes at the end of the exciting encounter.

Laeeq Ahmed, on the occasion, said that the Pakistan Day events, food and vegetable show across the city, were to highlight the importance of Pakistan’s resolution. He added that the festival would turn out to be the breath of fresh year. The KMC & SJAS will continue their endeavors in the future as well. Praising both teams’ players, Laeeq Ahmed said it does not look like over 50 teams however he, laughingly said, it seems they all are under 19 players.
