SJAS HONOUR VISITING SRI LANKAN JOURNALISTS

The Sports Journalists Association of Sindh (SJAS), affiliated to the Pakistan Sports Writers Federation, organized a ceremony at the media conference room of the National Stadium on Sunday, to express gratitude to the delegation of visiting journalists from Sri Lanka, who came to witness the historic Test series between Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Director media and communications, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Sami-ul-Hasan Burni was the chief guest of the programme. Addressing the attendees, Roshan Abhesinghe, a senior commentator from Sri Lanka, lauded the efforts of the SJAS, and spoke highly of the hospitality and security arrangements in Pakistan. He urged other cricketing countries to tour Pakistan for bilateral engagements. Abhesinghe recalled the brotherly relationship between Pakistan and Sri Lanka and said that the media coverage of the series would pave the way for more of such events in Pakistan. Former captain and legendary wicket-keeper, Wasim Bari was also present at the occasion, alongside senior journalists Qamar Ahmed, Abdul Majid Bhatti, Waheed Khan, Ehsan Qureshi, Abdul Rasheed Shakoor, Shahid Akhtar Hashmi, Mirza Iqbal Beg, Khalid H. Khan, Aziz Rehmatullah, PSWF’s Vice President Syed Nasar Iqbal, SJAS president Tariq Aslam, Secretary Asghar Azeem, senior vice-president Zubair Nazeer Khan and executive committee members.
